How to revive your WET phone?

What happens when your phone suddenly decides to take a plunge in water? there is always a possibility that it will be fine if you fish it out quickly and thoroughly shake the water out, but what if you are not so lucky? water in your phone means there is always a possibility of short circuit in your phone (due to combination of water and electricity) which can transform your your phone into just an paper weight. And consider large term defect as well, like corrosion of your inner parts due to water. And rust on your inner parts will cut off electric current, so display of your phone will be first to get affected in most cases.
But what would you do if your phone is soaked? most of the phones now a days have color indicators which changes color when it comes in contact with water, so telling your service center any lie about your phone will definitely not work. Don't worry before going to service center directly with your 'wet' phone as you can definitely try this methods as it might help you and definately save you some bucks, if not then you know where to take your phone.
so what are these methods you will learn by reading below steps, it is not necessary to try all these methods all at once, you can try any of these which you might consider useful for you.

First thing you do when you soak your phone is to disassemble your phone till its possible, because it is better to remove each and every drop of water which might hamper your phone later.

1) DRY

Disassemble your phone and let each and every part of your phone dry, you might think that's an obvious thing, but this is the most important and foremost thing you should do. but remember to remove your battery as soon as possible, because if battery is kept connected to your phone then it might result in short circuit, as current is still being supplied to your chipset. so first remove the battery source and then shake your phone and remove each and every drop of water possible.

2) Suck your cell phone dry

Many people might think of blowing your phone with blower but it might prove harmful for your phone as water might get in deeper places, so your best bet is to use vacuum cleaner, as it will suck all your water droplets and prevent water to seep in.

3)Absorb the moisture

Water seeping in your phone means moisture coming into picture, so it will be always nice to absorb that moisture as well so that would not affect your phone's internal. so you can absorb the moisture by using rice, you have to follow this basic steps, take a bowl full of uncooked rice and place your phone between that rice and cover it with some thing tight. it is advisable to use air tight container like tupperware. it is important to have cover on the bowl or the rice will absorb moisture from environment too, not just from your phone.

4) clean the display

There will be time when you would still see moisture in your phone basically on your display, you can clean these areas with isopropyl alcohol. this fluid is used as it has two advantage:
it does not conduct electricity and it evaporates quickly.

Try not to use any heat source to dry your phone as it would not help, because when heat is given to your phone water evoparates from your phone but still it would be in your phone itself, so after cooling these water vapour again gets transformed into water droplets. so this method won't reduce much water but may result in overheating of your phone, so its advisable to stay away from these method.
These are some steps which might help you if your phone decides to take a plunge in your sink or in swimming pool.

And do refer above steps, it might help you.

(The above steps are not tested by me, but they are definately tested by cnet, chip and wikihow and are referred from there to help you out if you get in such situation)

Android provide us with wide range of software, some are very useful while some are hardly used by us in our day to day life, there are many software that would help you take backup of your contacts. but here I am going to explain how to take backup on Google without any third party software. In this post I am going to give you method through which you can backup your contacts on Google. I know people who are already using android might be knowing this method ( and might feel that this post is waste, but people who are new on android should know what this OS is capable of.. and this might be helpful to many people who have just switched to android/ people who are not so much into phone so as to learn its each and every function). As we know android is one of the fastest growing  Operating system, so there is an steady influx of people from Nokia, Apple, Blackberry onto android bandwagon. so they might want to definitely learn a way to enjoy android without any hard work. Google is a giant company providing us with everything we need. so as android is one of the products of google, it provides us an way to store our contacts on its server. And having backup on Google means you are ought to get your data back in case of emergency (other companies provide cloud storage as well but Google is my favorite, so sorry had to write about Google). so without taking  more of your time let's start to backup our contacts.

Step 1

Ensure synchronization is active by tapping on " auto sync" on your notification bar (if its provided), if not then go to settings> accounts and sync> click on auto sync.

Step 3

so go to or from your browser.
if you are on click on "contacts" from upper left drop down menu (where gmail will be written).

Step 4

Step 5

Click "More>Export" after you have selected the contacts.

Step 6

Click Google csv format.
And click "Export".
your contact data will be shown in your download section of your browser.

If you feel above method is confusing please let me know in comments, I have tried my best to explain it in easiest manner possible and explaining basic things too. If you still find it difficult please let me know.

Applications that makes ROOTING worth

Now you might have got idea about ROOTING. what it means and why to root your Android, If you still have any doubt about it or you have skipped my post on "what do you mean by rooting?" then you can read my post here. so now after you have rooted your android then what applications you should install to make it worth will be mentioned here in this post. because even after rooting your phone you have done half work, because to make root worth you need to install applications that are worth the hard work you did to find root file for your phone and to void warranty of your Android. so lets start this post with applications that will make difference to you and your Droid.

1) SuperUser

Superuser is the first app you will have to download after rooting your droid, most of the time you will get this software after you root your phone automatically but many times it is not provided to you, so this app has to be taken foremost on your Android. Rooting a phone allows a user to establish total control over the device, but Superuser is the app that provides the button for that control. With Superuser installed, any app that needs root privileges to run will have to ask permission, and an informative pop-up will display with the option to give it those privileges. This app is an absolute must for any of the other apps on the list to even run.

After rooting your phone main thing you can do with an android is controlling its processor speed, it can be done with this application, SetCPU. You have rooted your android to gain control of it, the beauty of rooting is that you can get complete control of your phone. you can control its processor also. so this is the app that will help  you do it. SetCPU allows the user to take total control over how fast, or slow, the processor runs at any given point in time. As an example, SetCPU can force the processor to sit at its lowest setting whenever the screen is turned off, but to use a range between 240MHz and 806MHz as needed while the phone is awake. For phones that have the ability to drastically overclock, SetCPU can help ensure that they don't overheat by keeping watch on the temperature, and acting accordingly. Overclocking or not, battery savings and overall performance can be greatly enhanced using this app.
This features can also be provided by CPUtuner (it is available in playstore free of cost unlike setCPU).

SetCPU Screenshot
3) BusyBox

BusyBox is designed to be a small executable for use with the Linux kernel, which makes it ideal for use with embedded devices. It has been self-dubbed "The Swiss Army Knife of Embedded Linux".  BusyBox not an actual app that you run, but instead provides all the Linux/UNIX commands that we know. Without the commands installed, the barebones "Linux" that Android runs on top of can't really do too much, making apps like Terminal Emulator nearly worthless.

4) SD Maid- System Cleaning tool

There are many flaws in android like it saves some deleted data behind,,Apps you have already deleted, sometimes leave data behind data. The system constantly creates logs, crash reports and debug files you don't really need. The market leaves temporary files of downloaded apps behind. All this files will be handled by SD maid, and even more features are available in the app. so try this application and tell me hows it.

SD Maid
5) My Backup Root

My Backup Root helps you in making complete backup of your applications and then restoring it. this app is most helpful when you want to flash custom rom. because while flashing all applications and user files are deleted so this application helps you in saving application on memory card along with its data files, so while restoring you will get all your apps as it were before flashing custom Rom. I have mentioned this application instead of titanium backup because this application is available free in playstore and it does exactly same functions as titanium backup (and  main reason I suggest this app is because of its ease of use).

My Backup Root

6) Link2SD
Link2SD helps user to move their applications to SD card. All apps that are stored in phone memory by default can not be moved to sd card by default so to move them to SD card we need this application. We can even link application to memory card if you have created second partition in memory card. It also provides native apps2sd features on Android 2.2 and higher. It can move any non-protected user apps to SD card (force move), with batch moving capability. That feature uses Android's standard SD-card installation feature and does not require a second partition. It can break some apps if they are not meant to be moved to the SD card (Such as Widgets).

So if you know about any more application that should be here, then please write below in comment section.
hope I have helped you with your Android.

what do you mean by ROOTING an android phone?

You would have heard root many times from your friends having android or on internet somewhere, and you always wonder what these term would be.

so what exactly means rooting your android? According to wikipedia : Rooting is a process allowing users of smartphones, tablets, and other devices running the Android operating system to attain privileged control (known as "root access") within Android's subsystem. In simple language you can gain control of your phone by rooting( i.e be an admin of your device, called as superuser in android ). you will be able to control your processor, change its speed according to your need and main thing you can increase (overclock) its speed. but need to handle it with care as with great power comes great responsibility. Rooting is the process which makes you take control of your phone completely. And this can also be termed as " feature of an android phone, which Iphone users should be jealous of".
For rooting your phone you don't need to know rocket science, it takes just few steps to root your phone, but care should be taken to download proper root file of your device, if you flash an root file of some other device on your device it can brick it (Bricking an android phone means you have damaged your phone software so badly that it cannot be used or repaired any further, as good as throwing your phone away, In most cases if your phone  is stuck on your manufacturer logo or android logo and doesn't load any more then its said to be bricked). I am not discouraging you but just advising you to take proper care while flashing an root file. most of the user root their phones for installing custom rom's, because to flash an custom rom you need to be superuser (admin) of your device and that can be done only via rooting.

so you would be asking, why do we take risk of bricking our phone? just for overclocking or changing processor speed?  Believe me it is just not overclocking or changing processor speed its lot more. Having an android means you are forced to carry your charger along with you. through rooting you can install softwares that will let you change processor speed so that when you are low on battery and don't need phone more than just calling and messaging you can slow your processor to save you some battery. and there are softwares that will do it automatically for you. here is one of the software that can be helpful to you, CPU TUNER ( REMEMBER TO ROOT YOUR PHONE BEFORE). Rooting will help you install custom rom's, many people like me would be bored to use stock rom or default rom( rom is the phone software installed on your device, for example as samsung's stock rom is touchwiz) installed on your phone which is always slow, laggy and ugly. after rooting your phone you would be able to get many apps in playstore that would help you increase performance of your phone.
Phone manufacturer gives us an guest privileges as they don't want us to damage internal software beyond repair. that's the reason we have to root our phone to get the most out of our phones because they don't have time for us to constantly give updates for our phones and make it an awesome affair for us to use their device. so it is upto us to get it done. and there are many software out in the market that would let you enjoy that.

1) Custom rom:-
If you are having an old android phone and are bored of using the same old rom or same old version of android on your phone, and update for latest android version is no where near. so your best bet in this scenario will be to get an custom rom. now a days there are many custom roms on net which helps you in increasing performance, speed, graphics and will help you to fall in love with your old android phone again. For finding custom rom you can visit forums on

2)Custom theme:-
Themes are basically the graphics that appear on your Android device. Rooting your device allows you the ability to fully customize just about every graphic on your device. You can load custom themes that totally change the look and feel of your device.

3)Kernel, speed, and battery
There are many custom ROM’s and apps available for rooted devices that will allow you to drastically improve the performance (speed) and also extend battery life on your device.

Rooting your device grants you the ability to update the Basebands on your smartphone. The Baseband is what controls the radio on your device. By updating to the latest Basebands, you can potentially improve both the signal and quality of your phone calls.

5)Latest versions of android:-
As mentioned earlier, custom ROM’s can allow you to update to the latest version of the Android OS before they are officially released. This is a great feature for those who are tech-savvy and want to stay on top of the latest and greatest software updates before it hits the mainstream crowd. This is also useful if you have an outdated device that is no longer being updated by the manufacturer.

6)Unlocking Additional Features
By rooting your Android device you also gain the ability to unlock some features that your carrier may charge for. One example is enabling free WiFi and USB tethering, which many carriers charge money for. Now, I’m not suggesting you do this. But I did want to make you aware of the fact that it is possible to do this. However, your carrier may catch on to the fact that you are using your device as a free WiFi hotspot and figure out a way to charge you for it. So use this feature at your own risk

so take care while rooting your phone as it may brick your phone, procedure to root your phone is not mentioned in this post because rooting method for all phone models are different so its better if you search for the one working on your model, but you will certainly find one method on xda forums or simple method to find is to google your "phone model space root" for eg "samsung galaxy ace s5830i root".
I hope this post would have helped you.

I added this video if you want to know more about why to root your phone.
care while rooting,
not discouraging you but
advising you to
do it in right manner.

Samsung VS Apple

When we consider phones to buy we are literally spoilt for choices. we have Apple,Blackberry,Htc,Samsung, huawei,Lg,Motorola,Nokia etc.. but when we consider phones from top companies only apple and Samsung comes to our mind, even statistics say the same. so what makes Samsung and apple be at the top of the chart? the hardware of the device or the internal features? obviously for Samsung it would be Android that has taken them to top of the table....but will it be right to say that only because of android Samsung has been at the top of the chart? because Android is not the sole property of Samsung, because as Samsung there are many other companies that are using android OS then to they are not at the top of table. In the same way apple is not on top just because of its operating system but because they have hardware that can work in tandem with its operating system. so when you go for buying an phone what should you think before you buy phones from Samsung or Iphone?

Android phones as we all know are open source, so your device is in complete command of you. you can control the speed of your processor ( you can even blow up your device if you increase your processor speed more than what it can sustain),you can control what you want to see and where you want to see it( i.e. you want to store it in phone memory or memory card),you get to use widgets (An application, or a component of an interface, that enables a user to perform a function or access a service. In simple way widget lets you to view the content of that software without actually opening that software). Android can let you completely remove the  operating system of your mobile and replace it with something user defined. And you get this feature in Android just because it is open source and you will get upto 200000 lac application in its playstore. I am not saying that android is best go and buy just an android phone, I just want you'll consider this points before you go for any other operating system( i.e. bada, Symbian, windows or blackberry OS).

And if you consider apple devices, iphone is best among all's Ios is the best its interface is great ,it doesn't lag much, its user interface is great. In android there comes a time when your application starts crashing but I doubt if it ever happens with Ios.And main thing that you can go for apple is apple never forget its past devices, you are ought to get updates on your phone even if it becomes outdated among your peers. And not to forget we can't forget Ios one of the great innovation by STEVE JOBS.

Next thing that can make a difference in your choice is their USER INTERFACE
Samsung with its touchwiz cannot match user interface of Ios,
                                                                     ios 5

user interface of Ios

touchwiz 4.0 review by
I am currently using touchwiz 3.0 and have tried user interface of Ios 4, after using both I can surely say that even if Samsung would have made many changes in touchwiz 4.0 they can't make it as flawless and as fast as in Ios(considering that device have lot of games and software installed so as to make it slow, then you will know which one is better).
Samsung is the company which is already trying hard to maintain itself on number #1 position, you can say so because company is trying very hard to give varieties of products. you don't want to buy phones with large screens than Samsung will take care of that, if you want phones with smaller screens then also Samsung will take care of it, if you want to buy an tablet then also Samsung will take care of it,you want to buy an cheap phone then also Samsung will help you, if you want to buy an cheap phone without android then also samsung is there to help. basically Samsung is there in each and every covers your all needs gives you enough choices. And what about apple? it does give us choices (then to not much choice you get) but its all choices are expensive to afford.

so for me Samsung will be the winner till I can't afford Iphone. As android is customizable and also gives us command of our phone but at this point I don't want to control my phone I want to use the applications, softwares and my phone to its optimum level so I would can recommend you to go with Iphone.
We can say Samsung is an substitute till you can't afford an Apple product.

*all views given above are my own,you can have your own view if you want to

Android - Great Tech that changed the way you live

want to know more about android then view this video

This is my new blog which I have made to share various software's ,tips, tricks and tutorials related to your Android devices( you can always visit my other blog [ TeChNoGeeK ] by clicking TeChNoGeeK. On this blog I will try to share with you various Software's which can be fun and helpful to you sometime in your life. but I can't directly start with apps and tricks on my very first post so I will write about why Android is so successful,
Going back in time,we will try to find out android's history where we will talk about which companies have given us this great Operating system (except google ofcourse),how do we get so many software's for Android and that common android types(viz 2.2,2.3,4.0 etc).

According to wikipedia, Android is "Android is a Linux-based operating system for mobile devices such as smartphone's and tablet computers. It is developed by the Open Handset Alliance, led by Google, and other companies."

Android, Inc. was founded in Palo Alto, California, United States in October, 2003 by Andy Rubin (co-founder of Danger), Rich Miner (co-founder of Wildfire Communications, Inc.),Nick Sears (once VP at T-Mobile), and Chris White (headed design and interface development at Web TV) to develop.

Google acquired Android Inc. on August 17, 2005, making Android Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of Google Inc. Key employees of Android Inc., including Andy Rubin, Rich Miner and Chris White, stayed at the company after the acquisition.

At Google, the team led by Rubin developed a mobile device platform powered by the Linux kernel. Google marketed the platform to handset makers and carriers on the promise of providing a flexible, upgradable system.[There were rumours that android was also offered to Nokia, but as Nokia was very happy with success of its SYMBIAN operating system refused their offer and they are still suffering for there decision that they might have taken in haste, but you can't always believe in rumours]
Only one thing which is working in Google's favor is their decision to make android open source, due to which you can find any software according to your need, even if it is related to any want any software for any of your needs you search in market and you'll get it(and I have made this blog to share with you all software's which I have come across). by making their operating system open source they have encouraged developers to make software for their product and that to by making profits for both the parties.

According to android open source project "The goal of the Android Open Source Project is to create a successful real-world product that improves the mobile experience for end users."
